Physical Therapy

Evaluates and treats musculoskeletal disorders, pelvic floor dysfunction, and physical impairments associated with cancer rehabilitation, including lymphedema.

Anna (Katy) Smith earned her doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Puget Sound in 2009. She is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist, an Orthopedic Certified Specialist, and has a passion for treating pelvic floor dysfunction.

Cancer Rehabilitation/Lymphedema

It is difficult to find knowledgeable health care providers who have a good understanding of lymphedema, a chronic swelling disorder, sometimes a result of surgery to remove lymph nodes during cancer treatment. Katy trained through the Academy of Lymphatic Studies to learn how to treat and manage lymphedema through exercise, manual lymph drainage, and compression treatment.

Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation

Through sensory electromyographic (sEMG) biofeedback, internal assessments, and/or general pelvic health education and advice, Katy is able to assist people of all genders with pelvic floor dysfunction including, but not limited to urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, sexual dysfunction, and pelvic pain.

Injury Recovery

Studying for her board examination for the Orthopedic Certified Specialization, Katy developed a deep understanding for musculoskeletal injuries and the most current evidence on the treatment of them. She also has significant experience in post operative care of shoulders, knees, hips, and the spine.
